Item Description
3x5" on thin card stock. First is hand addressed to "President Harry Truman" and post marked "Jan 5, 1953". Reverse has hand written note reading "Dear Mr. President Please Do Not Commute The Death Sentence For The Rosenbergs." Second has printed address and is post marked "Mar 15, 1953". Reverse has form letter reading in part "I Am Writing To Appeal To Your For Clemency In The Case Of Ethel And Julius Rosenberg" and is signed at bottom right. Both have light handling and corner wear. VF. An intriguing pair highlighting the stark contrast in opinions about this significant Cold War era case.
