Item Description
Froggy the Gremlin was a character created by Smilin' Ed McConnell and brought to radio in the 1940s and TV in 1950s on the "Smilin' Ed's Gang" show, and later on "Andy's Gang" TV show, hosted by actor Andy Devine after McConnell's death. Offered here is 9.5x9.75x4.5" deep box containing 9" tall rubber squeaker figure w/raised "Rempel Mfg. Inc., Akron, O. USA. Pats. Pend. 1948 © J.N. McConnell" text on back of pants. Box shows scattered age spotting and handling wear w/some creases and two 2" corner/edge splits. VG/Fine. Box is rare. Figure has ossified w/age but is still supple, producing loud squeak. Bottom edge of Froggy's jacket has edge wear in .5" spot. Some scattered paint wear to eyes and lips w/dust soiling. Figure does not stand on its own. Fine.
