Item Description
28.25x41.25" for the original release of the 1931 Fox comedy directed by David Butler, starring Will Rogers, Mitchell Lewis and featuring Boris Karloff. Wonderful stone lithography by The H.C. Miner Litho. Co. of New York features cartoon image of Rogers about to be beheaded by scimitar-wielding executioner w/portraits of Rogers and Lewis at bottom. Originally folded, poster has been linen-mounted w/color touch-ups along fold lines and scattered restoration at fold crease intersections, restoration more moderate at bottom fold crease intersection. Pin holes and a few tiny holes at corners of image area have been filled in and margins have airbrushing. 1" sliver off margin at upper right. Rogers' name has some scattered touch-ups, including to two heavy folds. Poster remains bright and clean w/strong color and displays VF/Exc. as linen-mounted.
