17x24". The Wednesday, November 3, 1948 City Home Edition of the Chicago Daily Tribune. Large page 1 headline "Dewey Defeats Truman" is followed by sub-heads "Puts G.O.P. Back In The White House" and "Sizeable Electoral Margin Seen." An opening statement of news report by Arthur Sears Henning Is "Dewey And Warren Won A Sweeping Victory In The Presidential Election Yesterday." The incredible error on a national election actually won by Truman is often cited as the most famous single newspaper edition of the 20th century. Offered is the complete first section of the paper not including additional sections. Age toning at edges and along the well flattened horizontal center fold. A 1.5" area of loss to the top page at left center that does not affect any text. Otherwise scattered edge chipping and moderate handling wear. Technically VG but displaying Fine. Scarce.
