Item Description
23.75x29.75". Images of Washington, Lincoln and Garfield at top center w/jugates below. Magnificent allegorical imagery including a cornucopia, anchor and birds nesting in the barrel of a cannon. Produced by the radical Chicago Republican Newspaper "The Inter Ocean" that was a major power in Illinois and throughout the entire Northwest. Restoration to fill top/bottom borders and linen mounted flattening vertical and horizontal crease. Otherwise we note a faint light brown area of toning just left of eagle at center. Displays Exc.
