Item Description
Original 9x11.5x5.5" tall cardboard box marked "1 Doz. Assorted Pinocchio Tumblers" contains lot of 12 glasses made by Libby Glass Company and issued as premiums by various dairy companies in the 1940s, though these glasses were distributed by Casella & Son, a pasta maker as noted by premium distribution instructions on box - "Distribute As Follows: 1 Tumbler With Every 2 Small Or 1 Large Size Package Of Ronzoni Pastina (Soup Dainties)." Box shows obvious wear to top flaps but is complete w/cardboard dividers and VG overall. Glasses are 4.25" tall and feature seven different character images on the front w/five designs having a duplicate glass. Each has four-line verse on back. Characters include - Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, Figaro, Geppetto, Cleo, Foulfellow and Blue Fairy; Foulfellow and Blue Fairy are single glasses. This was the largest Disney dairy promotion set produced, w/glasses offered over a 12 week period. Glasses are unused and Mint.
