Item Description
There are four components to this 14 item lot with all items c. 1968-1970. Every item includes the name "Peter Max". At bottom center of photo is one 1.75" button from set of six designed by Max to promote the 1969 movie "Paint Your Wagon." At top, the large button is 2.5" reading "Clan Fub" which is an anagram for "Fan Club" (although asterisk translates "Fub" as "Fabulous Universal Being"). The remaining 12 iconic Max designs are from a series of at least 30 different we've documented. Of these 12, the top five are 1.75" pin-back buttons and they include his very scarce self-portrait button. The lower seven are also 1.75" but the backs of these are metal covered with a pair of slightly raised open slots that allowed them to be joined together with metal rings to form a "Mod" style belt. It would take about 17 celluloid segments with rings to form a 39" belt. All NM to Mint.
