Item Description
41x79.25" for the original release of the 1924 Pathécomedy silent comedy short directed by John A. Waldron, produced by Mack Sennett and starring Harry Langdon and Alice Day. Wonderful stone lithography by Morgan Litho. Co. of Cleveland, OH features Langdon holding door shut w/look of surprise on his face as Day gestures towards him while wearing elaborate flapper style dress. Langdon built quite a fan base working w/Sennett during the 1920s, placing him in the pantheon of silent comedy alongside the likes of Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd. As w/all three sheets, this poster is pieced together from three pieces. Originally folded, poster has been linen-mounted and has had margins airbrushed. Some minor color touch-ups to spot of door and some restoration along 10" area at center vertical fold line below Langdon's knee. Lower right has .75x1.5" scuffed area w/repeated surface paper breaks and .75" C-shaped tear that had partially lifted from linen. Despite issues, poster remains bright, clean and displays VF as linen-mounted.
