Item Description
41.25x80.5" for the original release of the 1918 Paramount movie serial, from "A Series Of Dramatic Film Stories Of America In The Making." This is for Episode 8, "Down The River." Great stone lithography by Chelsea Litho. Co. Inc. of New York, NY features full body image of writer, director and star Benjamin Chapin in Western attire, reading "The Sun" newspaper as young African-American boy tries to get his attention. As w/all three sheets, this poster is pieced together from three pieces, resulting in slightly uneven margins, but images line up nicely. Originally folded, poster has been linen-mounted and has moderate restoration to bottom third's fold lines and fold crease intersections, w/four letters in "Democracy" having been repainted. Margins of this bottom third have also been repainted. Rest of poster shows just lt. color touch-ups along fold lines w/some scattered airbrushing to margins. As linen-mounted, poster now displays VF w/bold color.
