Item Description
8" long satin ribbon issued for the in PA for the "Primary Election April 13, 1912." TR won the PA primary defeating Taft by nearly 20 percentage points and though he would go on to win seven more primary contests he lost the nomination at the convention but forged ahead forming the Progressive Party. Light handling wear, most notably a faint and well flattened horizontal fold at top of portrait. Exc. Retains original "T" bar stick pin on reverse. A rare 1912 artifact made prior to Roosevelt's formation of the Progressive Party. See next item for companion ribbon. Ron Koot Collection.
