Item Description
Side illustrations of Tony and a six-gun while the top brass cover has Tom's "TM" brand. A tiny hole in the cover's front side edge is used for viewing while the ring is held towards a strong light. Inside is black and white super sharp and clear photograph of Tom in western outfit with gun belt standing next to Tony, both facing the viewer, with his facsimile written inscription below "To My Straight Shooter Pal Tom Mix". Left edge of photo has tiny words "Made In France." This type of hold to light photo viewer is referred to as a Stanhope. A beautiful example with about 98% luster on the brass. It is particularly difficult to get examples with interior image as clear and crisp as this one. An outstanding and rarely matched example.
