Item Description
28.5x41" for the original release of the 1934 Fox Picture directed by George Hadden and starring Warner Oland, this is the fifth film in which Oland played detective Charlie Chan. Itself a remake of the 1927 silent film "The Chinese Parrot"; both are considered lost films. Wonderful stone lithography depicts Charlie Chan checking on the body of a murder victim, a flashlight in his hand. Originally folded, poster has been linen-mounted and has had minor color touch-ups along fold lines and scattered margin restoration, including repair to 2" tear at bottom left margin. Margins also have some minor edge filling along left and top margin has more moderate restoration to a few small holes. Poster now displays Exc. as linen-mounted and restored. All paper material from this lost film rarely comes to market, making this an extremely rare movie poster.
