Item Description
4" tall and 9-3/8" dia. This large size Liverpool creamware bowl features portraits of George "Washington His Country's Father, Benj. Franklin Born At Boston New England 17 Jan. 1706" and "Fayette The Nations Guest" around the outer circumference. Additional transfer features an eagle and 16 stars, an early seal of the United States, and text "Republicans Are Not Always Ungrateful." Interior of bowl features a large transfer "The Shipwrights Arms." Near seamless restoration along a 3" section of top edge left of La Fayette portrait and a repaired diagonal crack just affects the "A" in "Are." Base of bowl has a "Handle With Care" sticker w/hand written text. Technically Fine but displaying Exc. A rare and impressive early political ceramic.
