Item Description
26.75x34.5" period frame w/16.25x26.5" opening. 1893. A Harrison supporter in place of a horse pulls the victorious Cleveland supporter on a cart down a Chicago street w/brass band at back and children (including three wearing Cleveland kepi hats), merchants and onlookers several hanging out of windows. Visible in the background is an advertisement for "Highland Rye Whiskey" and a billiards hall at right features a "Pabst Beer" sign at its corner entrance. Frame has wear to extreme edges of wood and textured interior. Fine. Print has faint light brown age toning along vertical center band,  1.5" diagonal wrinkle affecting banner and a less than 1" horizontal tear on left edge at top third. Fine. Not examined out of frame. Based on a painting by Joseph Klir this print captures the era and American political life spectacularly.
