Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains 11" tall overall w/5.75" tall Donald Duck figure (w/arms jointed at shoulders and legs jointed at hips) attached to the wheeled painted tin base which has built-in key. Made in Japan, 1930s. Box shows obvious aging and wear w/.25" hole on lid and 3/8x1" edge piece missing from side panel. Main panel also has .75" tear at corner and obvious edge wear. Good/VG overall but still a rare box. A number of different sizes were made for this toy, this a larger version w/dangling jointed/one-piece celluloid figures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Pluto, (Mickey and Donald are jointed) along w/the small celluloid ball attachments. Minnie has .5" dent on her backside, rest remain free of cracks/dents. Large Donald figure has aged paper inspection sticker on belly. Works and travels in a circle as the celluloid parasol spins. Overall scattered small trace of wear/dust soiling. VF overall. Wonderful celluloid toy.
