Item Description
25.75x34.5" professionally framed. Unlisted in "Threads Of History". "For President S. J. Tilden For Vice President T.A. Hendricks" emblazoned across the 17x26" glazed cotton banner. Missing about 3" of the top point on fly end. Otherwise only moderate age toning. VG. Not examined out of frame. Collins only listed three Tilden textiles in Threads Of History. This banner is among the most outstanding display pieces from the 1876 campaign. Only the second example known to us. See matching Hayes, item #65.
