Item Description
Cardboard book has folded size of 6.5x14.25" and opens to length of 19". The front is full color and features six different cut-out dolls, clothing and accessories while inside has printing in black featuring "Didja" illustrated stories. Our photo shows the book fully opened front and back. Early 1940s printed in Australia by Colourtone Pty. Ltd. for Dawfox Productions, Sydney. The cut-outs are reprinted in larger size format from issues of Mickey Mouse Weekly English publication. Each cut-out includes bit of text describing that character's outfit along w/instructions. These are Mickey as Robin Hood, Minnie as Indian maid, Big Bad Wolf as Highwayman, Dirty Bill from Robber Kitten as Pasha, Goofy as Cow-Puncher and Donna Duck in her native costume. This is one of the few pieces of merchandise to feature Donna prior to her name change to Daisy. The reverse features three different stories titled "Didja Ever Try/Didja Ever See/Didja Ever-" followed by humorous text and image combinations including both Disney and non-Disney characters. This includes two of Mickey Mouse, Clara Cluck, Horace and Max Hare. Some of the "Didja" entries are "Try To Race With Time, See A Cigar Box, Beat An Egg." As folded, front cover at top left has large 3x5" area w/extremely ft. moisture stain, really only noticeable if viewed closely, mainly on the interior. Cover has additional scattered aging, front lower right corner has ft. 6" crease line. Overall it remains uncut and Fine. Scarce.
