Item Description
5.5x19x2.5" deep red metal case w/carrying handle and latch for the hinged lid. c. 1936 by Hamilton Metal Products Co. and the largest/scarcest of several tool chests that they produced. On the top are a pair of 2.5x5" full color decals as well as a 12" long ruler decal along the bottom edge. One decal depicts Pluto helping Mickey construct a wood fence while the other decal is of Donald working on the fence having just hit himself in the hand w/hammer. The underside panel has heavy wear w/most red color missing from about 60% of the surface along w/traces of darkening and some very slight surface oxidation. While the rest of the chest shows some wear, it is of a much lesser degree. Inside surface is quite bright and clean. The outside of chest has overall scattered small traces of wear, paint nicks and scratches plus small scattered black dots, mostly around the left side corner areas. The two illustrated decals have darkened w/age, both have overall scattered tiny age spots. Mickey decal has just a few tiny scattered flakes while Donald has tiny scattered flakes of the green bushes on the right side plus a pair of .5" hairline scratches, one just below him and the other across letters "HE" in "Chest." These small flakes/scratches are really only noticeable when viewed closely and both decals still have strong color and are 98% complete. A few small scattered flakes on the ruler decal. While the underside panel is Good, rest of tool chest still displays as VG.
