Item Description
First kit issued 1964-1967. 8.5x10.5" mailing envelope does not bear postmark but is first version w/printed return address and typed recipient name/address label. Envelope has some handling wear and age spotting along left. VG/Fine. Printed welcome letter is version w/"Atlantic" watermark. Folded as mailed. Scattered handling wear w/button ring on back. Fine. Membership card w/inked name matching that on envelope. Paperclip mark/aging but still VF/Exc. "The Voices Of Marvel" Flexi-Disc record comes in original sleeve and is 33-1/3 rpm which was recorded w/message from the Marvel Bullpen. Record has a few small marks and is VF/Exc. overall. Envelope is Exc. Original glassine envelope contains nine "MMMS" stickers w/image of Thing; variety w/o gummed backs. Exc. 3" dia. button featuring Spider-Man, Thing and Human Torch is bright, glossy and Exc. Lot also comes w/original business size Marvel envelope (again w/matching recipient name/address) that contains the third and final issue of "The Merry Marvel Messenger" newsletter, dated 1966. Newsletter mentions new club kit in the works (see following item). Also comes w/"Mail-Order Madness Section," the third ad flyer, which features both the Incredible Hulk and Thing sweatshirts and ten t-shirts. Both are folded as mailed and Exc. overall. Envelope shows scattered mailing wear w/large tear to back flap. Fine overall.
