Item Description
Original 11x19x2" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains painted cast-iron Arcade set No. 4319. Larger of two sets produced by Arcade in 1940. Box lid has all four corner splits w/2" corner tear to upper right, 4.5" corner tear at lower right and five punctures to main panel. Box bottom has one corner split. Box is VG. All pieces are on/attached to original illustrated die-cut cardboard insert. Insert shows some wear and has slight warp. Fine. Set includes 3.25" long Tractor No. 2660 w/solid black rubber tires and attached 5.5" long Dump Bed Trailer, 4.25" long Dump Truck No. 2321 w/solid black rubber tires, wheelbarrow w/black rubber tire, nickel-plated shovel, axe, hammer and pick. Painted cast-iron signs w/raised "Road Closed, Slow, Men Working Ahead" text and curved arrow sign. Last item is small painted cast-iron pennant flag. Scattered wear, w/some edge flakes and lt. paint wear. Trailer hitch arm has factory repair and factory paint touch-ups to underside of tin dump bed. Cast iron pieces are Fine to VF overall. Shovel has moderate oxidation while other three plated accessories are NM.
