Lot of eight items, all dating to the early 1930s. 5-7/8x9" envelope w/Disney Hyperion Ave. return address has been postmarked (partially illegible). Scattered aging/wear w/two streaks of staining on front, but not affecting typed recipient name/address. Fine. Letter w/"Walt Disney Productions Ltd. - Mickey Mouse Sound Cartoons" illustrated letterhead give instructions for applicant submitting work. Additional letter is typed introduction letter (unsigned). Lot also includes three-page stapled letter on 8.5x14" paper. Additional four sheets lay out drawing/writing exercises to be submitted, application form w/numerous questions regarding art, gag writing, performing experience, etc. and a release form for submitted art. Lot includes incredibly detailed information regarding working for the Disney studio, noting "Salaries Will Be Low During The First Stages Of Your Employment. However, Experienced Master Animators Receive Salaries That Are Well Up In The Four-Figure Category Monthly." All have been folded as mailed and have lt. even aging. VF to Exc. overall. Very interesting insight into the artist application process.
