Item Description
10-7/8" tall painted jig-sawed wood figure comprised of six separate pieces (head, body, arms, legs) mounted to central wooden pole that is mounted to wooden base. Body has "Mickey Mouse" decal which has some tiny scattered flakes; approx. 95% complete. 1930s. Designed so that when squeaker bellows mounted on base is pressed, arms and legs would move up and head would tilt to show open mouth. Bellows has hardened w/age and no longer functions. Crazing to white paint areas and all over dust soiling. Fine overall. Shown in Munsey's "Disneyana: Walt Disney Collectibles" book as a toy distributed by Borgfeldt in 1931. Rare and the first we've offered in our 52 years.
