Item Description
Complete set of eight ranging in height from 2.5" to 4" tall. Made in Germany by Hertwig, 1920s. From "The Gumps" comic strip that began in 1917. Set includes Andy Gump, Chester Gump, Min, Tilda, Widow Zander, Old Timer, Ching Chow and Uncle Bim. All have character names and "Germany" incised on back (Widow Zander and Old Timer also have incised name of creator Sidney Smith). All elastic is tight. Scattered lt. paint wear but o/w bright, clean and VF to Exc. overall and nicer than typically found.
