Item Description
This rare 1.25" Lindy button, like the previous item, also comes with an airplane hanger. A ribbon, under the collet, holds by two brass tabs a 2" long brass replica of his plane. Text on plane includes its name, wing number "NX211", slogan "N.Y. To Paris" and flight date. Button has Irvine & Jachens, S.F. paper. Along the collet is a 1" cello hairline split, as made, and laying perfectly flat. On the front at 11 o'clock is a faint 1/8" hairline ripple caused by the cello on the back failing to fold perfectly under the collet. There is a tiny 1/16" scratch to left of forehead that catches reflected light. Visual impact of the defects is close to nil. Button displays at least NM. A rare west coast issue.
