Item Description
This 2.25" color tinted, real photo (no dot screen) pocket mirror is among the very earliest issued for auto advertising. There is no mirror maker's name. A few dots/tiny lines of silver off but 98% complete. Top text names car maker and reads "Compliments Of St. Louis Motor Carriage Co." Below the photo is address of the company founded by John French and George Dorris which manufactured gasoline autos from 1899 to 1905. Their tag line was "Rigs That Run".  In 1905, the company moved to Peoria and was re-named St. Louis Motor Car Co. continuing until 1907. Cello is NM displaying Mint. First seen. Rare.
