Item Description
2.75" with fraternal logo above racing chariot horses and gold text on lower edge "Supreme Tribe Ben-Hur, Crawfordsville, Indiana". The popularity of Wallace's 1880 novel inspired two men from Crawfordsville, IN to form a fraternal organization based on the novel with incorporation in 1894. Membership and insurance sales grew rapidly. Mirror silvering has two brown edge marks but over 90% intact. Collet has oxidation with some small degree of pitting but only a few tiny stain dots on underside narrow celluloid edge and no stain at all on the front. Curl names maker Whitehead & Head and this is among their very best full color mirrors. Our first in years. VF but displays essentially Mint.
