Item Description
2-3/16" with perfect silvering and featuring a paper label under celluloid against a gold paper background. This paper label was also used to produce a 1.75" pin-back button shown in color on page 161 of Hake's book Collectible Pin-Back Buttons 1896-1986. Like the pin-back, across the top of this mirror is the text "Copyright, 1901, By Baltimore Badge & Novelty Co. Registered In U.S. Patent Office". Also like the pin-back, across the bottom is "My-Pal-Met-Her". The text on the button but not on this mirror reads "1901-Charleston-1902/South Carolina Inter-State & West Indian Exposition".
In our 52 years, we've seen only three or so examples of the pin-back and we may have offered this mirror once decades ago. Small variation in the gold color as made on the outer edge of the paper label. NM displaying Mint as made. Rare.
