6x9.25" herald opens to 6x17-7/8" and was issued for the original release of the 1948 "Superman" Columbia 15 chapter serial starring Kirk Alyn in the title role. ©1948 National Comics Publications, Inc. Front of herald features great full body image of Superman w/space bkg. and his rocketship behind him. Herald opens to reveal five-panel comic strip featuring brief synopsis of the movie serial, showing the villainous Spider Lady and Superman in three panels and Lois Lane in one panel. Herald also mentions "Superman" and "Action Comics" comic books as well as the "Superman" radio program. Back has "Junior Joy Jamboree Show" information. Moderate even aging w/scattered moisture staining. VG overall. Rare and just the second we've offered in our 52 years.
