Item Description
8.5z11" each. First advertises "Invisible Circus A 72 Hour Sustained Environmental Community" event at Glide Church sponsored by "Artists Liberation Front, Diggers, Glide Foundation" (stray ink affecting the first "E" in "Free" otherwise extremely clean, file copy quality, NM). Second advertises a "Morning Clean-In Sat. April 1" w/additional text "H-A Is A State Of Mind. A Clean Open State Needs Clean Streets" (a 1/2" vertical tear on bottom edge just left of center, ink inscription on reverse that is barely visible from front, VF). The Diggers were street-theater anarchists responsible for starting a free store and free health clinic in the Haight Ashbury neighborhood. They were critical in feeding and informing the influx of hippies into the iconic San Francisco neighborhood during the Summer of Love.
