Item Description
15x17.25". Elaborate Victorian frame housing a detailed plaque that features high relief portraits of Washington, Lincoln, Grant and Colfax. Text reads "In God We Trust/The Union Must And Shall Be Preserved/The People's Choice Elected Nov. 3, 1868/Love And Tears For The Blue/Tears And Love for the Gray." Typically found in a shadow box display this plaque was reframed at some point in the distant past. Frame has moderate wear including some chipping at top right, VG. Plaque is extremely clean w/only light green toning in the crevasses of the relief portraits. Extremely Fine. Rare.
