Item Description
2-15/16x4-7/8" card w/imprint along lower edge. Depicts all the 1888 candidates enjoying a drink in a room w/busts of Grant and second man (Lee? Hancock?) flanking banner "Let Us Have Peace." Foreground is accented by newspapers "N.Y. Tribune/N.Y. Staats/Mail Press", and sitting are Cleveland, Harrison, Thurman and Morton. At upper left, Prohibition V.P. candidate Brooks brings more glasses on a tray and at right, Prohibition presidential candidate Fisk sits alone and he is being served by Belva Lockwood, suffragist and the 1884 and 1888 presidential candidate of the National Equal Rights Party. Text at bottom l/r reads "We May Differ In Politics/But We All Agree That: Brandon & Kirmeyer's Malt Tonic Is A Healthy Beverage." A 1.25" diagonal crease at bottom right that just breaks the surface paper, rounding of corners, ink notations on reverse and moderate handling wear. VG. Among the few items picturing Lockwood.
