Item Description
3-1/8x5.5" mailing envelope w/"Captain America" return address, typed recipient address and full body Captain America and Bucky illustrations contain complete and first issued membership kit from 1941. Envelope has some lt. scattered handling wear but still VF. Kit consists of 1.5" tall badge, version w/bright brass luster (see copper version, following item). Tiniest traces of wear only upon very close inspection, badge retains full, bright luster. High grade, NM example, as nice as they come. Also comes w/small plain envelope that contained badge. First version membership card measures 2.25x3.75" and has been signed in ink (name matching that on envelope). "A" on Captain America's cowl is pointed off at top whereas second version was squared off. Blue color is lighter than second version as well as differing placement of type and different wording. Captain America art by Al Avison. Some minor handling wear and even aging, but still VF/Exc. overall. Very rare as a complete kit and among the most desirable of all comic book-related kits.
