Item Description
7.25" dia. by 4.5" tall glazed full sized china chamber pot w/paint over glaze decoration, text and Hitler caricature on inside bottom of bowl. Unusual item made and sold by "The Morning Call" newspaper in Wheeling, WV w/label on underside. 1940s. Painted "We Did It Before And We Can Do It Again" text refers to Allied victory over Germany in World War I. Last word has some missing paint as does line on Hitler's cheek. Still VF/Exc. overall. There was a rare full size and many different miniature Anti-Axis chamber pots made in England during World War II, but this is first we've seen of any American version of this classic wartime novelty item. Rare.
