Item Description
3.25x5.25 w/union bugs and "Standard Printing Works Covington, KY" at bottom left. Candidate's portraits on either side of US Capitol and a dramatic eagle clutching an American flag below. Postal cancellation "Dayton Ohio Aug 7, 1920" and pencil notations on front and back. Scattered age toning blending into background and light handling wear. Fine. The only other example we have encountered was a variety w/printed text on reverse that exceeded $27,000 at auction. The most prized political postcard and among the most graphic jugate images of the notoriously drab 1920 Democratic campaign. This special postcard was consigned by legendary postcard expert Hal Ottaway who considered it the prize of his collection, and we concur.
