Item Description
Exceptionally large premium ring pair offered as premiums by Quaker cereals in conjunction w/Roy Rogers; these rings were promoted in the Sunday comic ads by Roy's sidekick/partner Gabby Hayes. This 1951 Quaker premium was issued in two varieties and both are offered here. One features brass cannon barrel while other features aluminum barrel. Each base shows Quaker Man on one side and other shows cannon mouth w/many small ovals flying above, symbolizing Quaker's "Quaker Puffed Wheat And Rice Shot From Guns" advertising phrase. Brass barrel variety has trace luster wear and is Exc. while other is high grade, NM example. Comes w/complete and uncut 7x7" instruction sheet w/order blanks for additional rings and "Gabby Hayes Miniature Old-Time Automobiles" premium offer on back. Sheet has moderate handling wear w/all over creases. VG/Fine.
