Item Description
Lot of five pieces celebrating aviator Charles Lindbergh's historic transatlantic flight in the Spirit of St. Louis in 1927. Books each measure approx. 8.25x11" w/64 pages and feature many photos. Both were published by the Missouri Historical Society ©1928 and ©1933. "Decorations And Trophies - Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh" has die-cut cover revealing portrait of Lindbergh beside Spirit of St. Louis. Contents highlight the many awards, medals and presentation pieces received by Lindbergh within the year following his flight. Title page has ink correction to flight date. "Trophies & Decorations Of Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh" has photo portrait on cover and includes many photos of the same nature as 1928 publication. One highlight is photo of the flight suit Lindbergh wore during his historic flight. Books have some lt. margin aging and handling wear and are VF overall w/Exc. contents. Comes w/three pieces of vintage sheet music celebrating Lindbergh, each featuring different photo image of him on covers. Titles include - "Oh, Charles My Darling, Like An Angel You Flew Into Everyone's Heart (Lindbergh)" and "Triumphant Lindbergh/We." Scattered aging/handling wear w/some dust soiling and inkstamp on front of one. Fine to VF overall.
