Item Description
2-3/8x3.5" two-sided membership card for Walt Disney Studio's "Penthouse Club," a private athletic club for male members of the Walt Disney Studio. Card was issued for 1947 and features great full body image of Donald Duck lifting barbell. Back features bkg. portrait image of Mickey Mouse and has been signed by Penthouse Club President James Algar as well as its Manager Walt Pfeifer in blue ink. Card is numbered "118" and was issued to Jack Kinney (1909-1992), a veteran Disney animator, who spend most of his career working at Disney and directed the first film in the "Donald Duck" series to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. Two other films directed by Kinney were nominated for the same award. Front of card has not been signed on provided line w/some faint streaks of staining. Card has some lt. handling wear but is VF overall. All items from this exclusive club are rare, this being the first we've offered of any of these cards in our 52 years.
