Pair of 8-3/8x11.25" weekly magazines, published by The Family Circle, Inc. Vol. 17, #17 (Oct. 25, 1940) has composite cover featuring Superman image and magazine content also includes three page "Don't Laugh At The Comics" article, which features images of comic strip characters Andy Gump, Popeye, Mutt & Jeff as well as Li'l Abner and photos of Dr. William Moulton Marston (Family Circle's psychologist who would go on to create Wonder Woman the following year), Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel and M.C. Gaines. Another photo shows New York World's Fair Superman Day contest winners and mentions Supermen of America clubs. Vol. 20 #16 (April 17, 1943) has composite cover featuring Batman and Robin image and magazine content also includes three-page "Are The Comics Bad For Children?" article, which features images of Golden Age Flash, Hop Harrigan, Superman and Buck Rogers as well as Wonder Woman (who is noted as the creation of Family Circle's psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston). Issues are evenly aged and show some scattered edge/corner tip wear w/pinch creases to spines and some corner chips to 1943 issue. Fine overall.
