Item Description
A rare DC licensed issue released at two different times. Fher, S.A. Both albums are complete w/full set of full color paper stock cards mounted at appropriate spots. Text is in Spanish. Title translates to "Superman On The Doomed Planet" an adventure that takes him into space to deal w/life on another planet. Each album is 8.5x12.5" First is from 1958. This album has 32 pages w/set of 240 cards, each 2x3". Great front cover art, back cover features ad for three different series including this one. Pages are intact but have come loose from the cover. Cover worn w/spine splits and tape stains on outside/archival tape repairs inside. Good. Pages Fine, cards overall EX as mounted. Second album is from 1973. This is an abridged version, set is 210 cards. Same art and story as the 1958 issue and while fewer cards the pages have additional story art not found in the 1958 album. There is also a full color glossy paper centerfold pinup picture that has full set of ten cutout images applied at appropriate spots. Also has different cover art. Scattered cover wear, VG. Pages Fine/VF w/cards overall NM as mounted. Lot also includes ten unopened packs for the 1958 series. Each is 2x3" w/Superman image on front and contains two cards. Scattered margin wear/aging but sealed. Albums are rare, especially as complete. The only other we have offered was a 1958 album that only had 34 cards, and that sold for $385.
