Item Description
Lot of eight, including rare variants for this specific year of issue. With World War II over, The Junior Justice Society of America club was discontinued (temporarily - see next two items) in Dec. 1945, resulting in this version of the kit seeing more limited distribution. Mailing envelope was exclusive to this issue and features a different return address (225 Lafayette St., also seen on certificate). Handling wear as mailed, Fine. Member letter has slightly different text (but it does mention the patch) and is the only one to feature "An All-American Publication" logo at top corners. Some lt. handling wear at top but bright, clean and VF overall. Patch is slightly larger (as is the shield image) from the earlier version (see previous item). Exc. Certificate shows nine superheroes (down from 13 as on earlier versions), this being the first to feature both Wildcat and Mr. Terrific as well as larger images of The Flash and Green Lantern. Horizontal fold at center as mailed but certificate has not been filled out. VF/Exc. Decoder (also unused) features six different names from the earlier versions - Wildcat, Mr. Terrific, Black Pirate, Ghost Patrol, Blue Boys and Hop Harrigan. Decoder has lt. even aging and minor crease at top. VF. The war-related material includes - M.C. Gaines "Youth And The War Effort" brochure and "The Minute Man Answers The Call" four-page comic (both are updated versions w/1945 date change on next to last panel of back of comic) along w/"Defense Stamp Album" booklet. All three are Exc. A rare version of this kit as it was only used in 1945 (and only a portion of that year for the certificate, see following item). These are the actual examples shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
