Item Description
12x22x4.5" cardboard box reads "The Contemporary Game Chess '72 By LRH." Box lid has a few tiny nicks and lower box has one partial corner split. Board and contents are essentially Mint. Playing pieces are solid vinyl w/eight elephant pawns in gold and eight donkey pawns in silver. The other 16 pieces portray politicians including: McGovern as King; Edward Kennedy; Lindsay; Humphrey; McCarthy; Henry Jackson; Sam Yorty; Muskie; Nixon as King; J. Edgar Hoover; Agnew; Laird; Kissinger; Rogers; Connally and John Mitchell. Includes 8.5 x 11" folder w/info on sculptor Alexander Silveri of Gras, Austria. An elaborate 1972 campaign item featuring the most famous politicians of the pre-Watergate scandal.
