Item Description
4.25x5.5" folder for 1947 personal appearance of "America's Newest Comedy Sensations" Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis at the Chanticleer Club in Baltimore, MD. Martin and Lewis met in 1945 and debuted at Atlantic City's 500 Club on July 25, 1946, making this promotional piece an early artifact from the early days of the legendary comedic duo's 10 year history. Front of folder features photo portraits of both Martin and Lewis and the pair is mentioned within alongside other Chanticleer performers including Jimmy Jimae, Lucien & Ashour and The June Taylor Dancers. Back has photo of upcoming comedy act Buddy Lester, noting "Opening Thursday, November 20th." Small cardstock piece noting price has been stapled at bottom of folder's back cover. Scattered aging/handling wear. Fine overall. Rare and first we've offered in our 52 years.
