Item Description
Pair of 7" hand-painted plaster ashtrays w/recessed area in Hitler's and Mussolini's mouths for ashes or to stub out cigarette/cigar. Bassons Dummy Products, 1943. Part of a series that also included Hirohito (see following item). Undersides have Bassons paper label referring to ashtray set as "The Jack-Axis" w/"They're Mostly Mouth We All Agree - The Men We Call The Axis Three - Here's A Likeness Of Their Face - Dump Your Refuse In The Proper Place" text. Ashtrays and labels have lt. scattered wear/aging; Mussolini label shows more moderate wear. Fine to VF overall. Scarce w/original label. Great anti-Axis caricature images.
