Item Description
7.5" tall trick-or-treat bucket w/4.5" dia. opening and vinyl carrying handle. Made by Clinton Plastics, utilizing the same sculpt created for the legendary 1963/1964 Actwell Plastics "Frankenstein Monster Speaker." c. 1960s. The likeness of actor Glenn Strange in Frankenstein make-up is quite striking. Small Universal Picture Co. copyright at bottom by neck bolt. Produced in several molded plastic colors, these buckets received random highlight paint by the factory in contrasting colors. As these pails were packaged loose inside shipping cartons, wear to the highest painted surfaces is common, as seen on our example's brow and nose. Plastic at nose is a bit thin, resulting in some translucence and denting w/1/8" seam split. Fine overall. Rare and a highly sought after and desirable piece of Universal Monster memorabilia from the height of the 1960s monster craze.
