Item Description
1-3/8" dia, by 5/8" deep metal pill box w/hinged lid w/wonderful enameled image of grinning Mickey Mouse w/gun in his hand (similar to the Rosenthal figurine). Unmarked but most likely German, c. early 1930s. Brass metal case shows some aging/luster wear w/scattered oxidation to bottom and on rear side by latch. Fine overall but top of lid shows lightest trace of wear at edges, while image remains unaffected and displays VF. Rare and the only example we have ever seen in our 52 years. Ex-Maurice Sendak Collection and we first offered this piece in our Nov. 2013 auction, where it sold for $1,075.
