Item Description
15.5" tall doll w/composition head, hands, boots and stuffed body. ©1938 T.L.R. Co. Inc. Wears felt mask w/elastic band and fabric bandana, shirt and suede-like pants. Cuffs, belt and holster are made of oilcloth-type material. Doll also comes w/6" dia. by 2" tall pressed fabric hat w/.5" wide "The Lone Ranger" paper band. Attached to one holster is 3" dia. illustrated cardboard tag w/Lone Ranger on Silver image and inset "Tonto" portrait. Text reads "Lone Ranger Official Doll" and has word bubble w/"Hi-Yo Silver" text. Back of tag has "Dollcraft Novelty Co." name. Exc. Holsters hold pair of 2.5" nickel-plated cast iron one-piece guns. Some minor creases to pants w/trace surface wear to suede covering. Hat shows wear and is slightly misshapen. Fine/VF. Mask has some surface loss between eyes. Fine. Rest of Lone Ranger's outfit is VF. Scattered paint wear to hair and typical crazing to head and face, w/heavy craze line running across top of head from ear to ear. Head is Fine overall. One of the best vintage Lone Ranger items in terms of design and likeness.
