Item Description
Offered here is an animation model cel featuring the DC Comics superhero team the New Teen Titans (referred to here as simply "Teen Titans") as featured on animated anti-drug PSA commercial sponsored by Keebler in 1983-1984. Cel bears Hanna-Barbera Productions, Inc. copyright as it was during this period that Hanna-Barbera was producing their popular "Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show" animated series. Noticeably absent is Robin, who was under contract w/Nabisco at the time, and was replaced w/character name The Protector (seen at right). Cel features Cyborg, Raven, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Changeling (aka Beast Boy) and Starfire as well, each w/their name inked under their "Comparative Size" image. Top of 10.5x12.5" cel has "Teen-Titans P.S.A. (60 Second Spot)" text. Images have been hand-painted. Upper left corner has sheet of paper w/"DC" Comics logo and handwritten text approving the character designs that has been written/signed by Dave Manak, who was a DC Comics editor at the time. Cel comes w/plain white backing sheet w/penciled "Models Approved By D.C. 3/8/84" text. Exc. Scarce model for this PSA.
