Item Description
17.5x17.5x1.75" thin cardboard box has six panel comic strip of Dick Tracy, Pat Patton and Chief Brandon busting down door thinking Dick Tracy Junior is being shot, only to find him using this target set. Another box style featured just Dick Tracy. Marx, c. 1930s. Box is evenly aged and shows obvious wear w/heavy creases to top side panel and missing 4.75" edge sliver at upper left of front main box panel. Some edge wear and corner tip wear, including tears and two 1" pieces off right corners. Box is Good/VG overall but main box image remains nice for display. 17" dia. heavy cardboard target is variety w/wood easel back and comes w/three painted wooden dowel legs. Target features nice art by creator Chester Gould w/Tracy pointing towards central score w/small "Licensed By Famous Artists Syndicate Inc." text. Exc. Comes w/plain inner cardboard box that holds generic painted pressed steel gun and two rubber-tipped safety darts. Inner box shows some lt. wear but gun and darts are Exc. Superbly designed set w/choice graphics. Classic Dick Tracy toy.
