Item Description
7.5x10.5" magazine w/80 pages. Magazine is filled w/bw illustrations by noted cartoonist Milt Gross (1895-1953), whose work is noted for its exaggerated cartoon style and Yiddish-inflected English dialogue. Published by The Bystander Press of New York, 1939. Pages are filled w/great content, all related to New York City, including map w/Statue of Liberty, Chinatown and Harlem (both w/stereotypical depictions), Grant's Tomb, George Washington Bridge, Radio City Music Hall, Coney Island, New York Public Library and much more. There are also many pages devoted to the 1939 New York World's Fair, featuring the Trylon & Perisphere. Minor spine/edge/corner tip wear. VF w/NM pages.
