Item Description
18.25x23.5" w/"Lith. Kurz & Nelke Chicago" at bottom left. Portrait of McClellan framed w/laurel wreath w/vignettes titled "Peace" and "War" flanking. Portraits at bottom center feature Clament Vallandingham, George Pendelton and Horatio Seymour. Allegorical images of Liberty and Justice flank the text of the party platform at center w/Justice advancing over a confederate flag and snake.  A 1/2" vertical margin tear at top just right of center. Moderate even age toning w/scattered dots of light brown foxing. Faint damp staining along bottom edge and the paper has a slight waviness. VG. The first we've seen in 52 years and while we are aware of a matching Lincoln, we've only seen one example. A rare opportunity to obtain this striking and historic poster.
